a) In order to comply with my membership rules in the BlogHer Ads network (you’ve seen their advertisements on the right-hand, top-of-the-fold [so to speak] side of this blog), I’m creating a separate blog called My Inner French Girl Giveaways to hold contests for sponsored prizes, i.e., prizes that a company offers through my site, as opposed to prizes that I give away myself. The link is on the right as well. Don’t worry about subscribing to that one, though. I’ll always be announcing contests on this site, but for those sponsored blogs, the announcement will include a link to MIFG Giveaways, where you can then read all about the prizes, rules and how to enter.

I know, it’s a bit of a hassle having to go to a separate blog (and it’s a hassle maintaining two, I must say!), but I’m hoping to remedy that quite soon. As I mention also in MIFG Giveaways, I’m in the middle of a major, major overhaul of this blog, including a redesign, more features and its own domain name. (Huzzah!) After two years (!!), I think MIFG is ready to grow up and be part of the adult world of blogging (no, that doesn’t mean porn, not even French porn), so my target date is July 14, 2009, i..e, Bastille Day, natch. God help us, but I think I can do it. In the meantime, I’ll still be right here, plugging away, with lots of book reviews, a relaunch of my weekly film review column, and hopefully interviews in the near future. And of course, more giveaways. Who doesn’t love free stuff? (Who doesn’t go to artist receptions for the free food? Er, not me.)
