Dear Susan, bonjour and thank you for your comment!

Oh, I feel your pain. Orange??? Tell me it was at least Hermes orange...? Good on you for holding your tongue. I'm not sure that I would have had the discretion. ;-)

Do let me know if you end up setting another one in your bedroom. I was just browsing the IKEA catalog today (that's about the only furniture I can afford right now!) and saw that they have "dressing tables," but they're not the same thing. They have no mirrors! Again, not the same thing.

I haven't actually seen Anjelica in a while, so it was wonderful to come across that photo in the book. Took my breath away. She had the whole Angelina Jolie thing going, but as much as I admire La Jolie, she still has a long way to go before she can inherit that Goddess torch from Ms. Huston!

Salut,
Marjorie

Ah, nice memories. I always had a vanity until about 10 years ago when I gave my, wait for it, Art Deco vanity, mirror, & lamps to my youngest sister. She painted it orange. I will refrain from screaming (I like orange but...) And no, I didn't say a word. I did give it to her after all.

Now, setting one up in room as I hate keeping things in the bathroom. Will let you know how it works out.

I remember this book from the stores...but haven't seen in years. Thanks for mentioning it. And for mentioning Anjelica H. She's fabulous & every time I hear or read 'so & so is still looking great even THOUGH they are x number of years' I think of her, Susan Sarandon, Catherine Deneuve, et al.

ciao

Susan
