Suggestions for a Paris honeymoon for 3-time visitor?

by Marjorie on January 26, 2010

Okay, everyone, one of @innerfrenchgirls Twitter followers needs your help! She’s a three-time visitor to Paris who’ll be returning to the City of Light in May for her honeymoon and is seeking tips on places to see that’s perhaps a little off the beaten path. (She’s a Paris veteran, after all!) So far I’ve received the following tips from some of my favorite Twitter friends:

  • “well you need to spend a cpl of days in Paris, then try Toulouse, Lyon, Montpellier, Strasbg, and some smaller towns!” (from @louis010971)
  • “west Versailles, Louvciennes or old villages like pontoise the south ESSONNE also has gems. Avoid the north.” (also from @louis010971)
  • “if they haven’t been to the musee rodin, they should go. in my mind a perfect museum http://www.musee-rodin.fr/welcome.htm” (from @janetjoy)
  • “Hello! I would say Le jardin d’acclimation, Bagatelle, Monceau Park and Carnavale Museum.” (from @squiziou)

The suburbs seem to be a tremendously popular choice, but what do you think? Please list your suggestions here so that I can pass them on to mon amie! Merci!

If she’s not been elsewhere esp. Strasbourg, ( ahem)…then I don’t consider her knowing much about France. At all. What can I say? I’m cranky today, it’s going to snow.

ciao

Bonjour, Susan! You’re certainly more than welcome to be cranky, today or any other day. I have my cranky days, and they do wonders for the soul. Faux cheeriness is what I can’t stand!

Merci for your input! I’ll pass along the suggestions to her. We’ve some great tips here!

Salut,
Marjorie
